Featuring items from the collection, including

a circa-1882 “New Home” brand sewing machine

an 1883 baby quilt

an 1836 cross-stitch sampler made by a 10 year old girl

a circa-1960s evening coat sewn from 19th-century fabric

pincushion

This exhibit features five forms of needlecrafts – sewing, crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, and quilting – all drawn from the Meadowlands Museum’s extensive collection.

All of this is impressive, but I always get carried away by the 19th and early 20th century samplers. They are gorgeous and so detailed!
