On Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 3-5 PM, the Meadowlands Museum will host its seventh annual Victorian Tea fundraiser. Take time from life’s hectic demands to enjoy an old-fashioned afternoon with tea, light refreshment and an enjoyable speaker. A harpist will play during the tea. We will have a raffle of tea related gift baskets.
This year our speaker will be Myra Domantay the consumer relations manager for Twinings Tea , North America. Twinings is one of the oldest tea companies in the world and one of the very first companies to introduce tea drinking outside of China. Their story began in 1706 when Thomas Twining began selling fine tea from an English storefront in The Strand, London. That original store still exists and today stores in more than 100 countries throughout the world join it. Twinings Tea will be served at on May 2nd and each attendee will take home a sample of Twinings Tea.
Tickets to the tea are $30 per person and should be purchased in advance. All funds raised will go toward the support of the Museum and its programs. To contact the Museum either call (201-935-1175) or by e-mail (meadowlandsmuseum@verizon.net).
